Mission Statement

The mission of the Lincoln Training Center is to foster independence and improved quality of life for individuals with disadvantages or developmental disabilities through maximum effort of the organization's staff, membership and volunteers. This will be accomplished through an unqualified commitment to - and delivery of - diverse, high quality programs and services to Lincoln Training Center's clients, customers, and the community.

LTC is run by a volunteer board of directors comprised of 16 business and human services leaders from the Los Angeles County area.

Our History

Lincoln Training Center was founded in 1964 by a group of parents for the purpose of providing meaningful employment for adults with disabilities. Operating out of a borrowed facility with a small work force of individuals with disabilities, the founding parents took in their first paid contract--rolling newsprint for a local company. This contract resulted in the primary funding for the Center.

Today, housed within its corporation-owned 30,000 sq. ft. facility, Lincoln Training Center employs more than 400 people with developmental and physical disabilities annually, while providing precise, high quality subcontract work for all types of industries. LTC's workers with a disability, known also as our clients/consumers, are provided very close supervision from a staff of production supervisors and rehabilitation counselors. Contracts include opportunities to perform deburring, packaging, sorting, weighing, assembly/disassembly, labeling, laminating, collating and shrink wrapping. Through our employment training programs, LTC provides additional support to participants wishing to make the transition from our base-operated work services program, into our community-based supported employment program.

LTC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation and holds the highest possible accreditation standard with the national Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. (CARF) We are an approved vendor with the California State Department of Rehabilitation and the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Lincoln Training Center maintains active membership in the California Rehabilitation Association (CRA) and the California Alliance of Rehabilitation Industries (CARI).
