A "Good News" message to Lincoln's Dynamic Volunteers - Past, Present and Future!

Lincoln Training Center is proud to announce that the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has awarded the Center with its highest accreditation in recognition of LTC's quality employment programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

On behalf of the Center's Board of Directors, Advisory Council, management, and staff, we thank You the Lincoln Training Center Volunteer. You are the unsung heroes who help to make these programs possible - You make a big difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities!

It's important that the Center acknowledge the crucial role of Lincoln volunteers, whose guidance and support have enabled LTC to grow from a small workshop, founded in 1964 by parents of the disabled, into a thriving, not-for-profit corporation. Today LTC provides job skills training and employment for over 400 Southern California workers with disabilities annually. The Center is now able to provide important supported employment services, and has placed over seventy workers into jobs within their communities. With your help we've been able to increase our programs by accepting an invitation from the California State Parks and Recreation Department to open a seasonal concession stand training site on Folsom Lake.

The Center welcomes your continued participation - at whatever level of involvement you can provide. And to our new volunteers, we welcome your interest. Everyone is invited - past, present, and future volunteers, to visit the Center's headquarters in South El Monte for a personal tour to witness first-hand how Lincoln's programs turn disabilities into possibilities.

Throughout the year the Center has numerous volunteer opportunities available, and we are happy to assist in choosing an activity or assignment that fits you and/or your organization's schedule.

Again, thank you to all of Lincoln's wonderful volunteers - You are truly special!
